The Programme

Unlocking conservation potential for people and nature

The AMCLP assesses the needs of local organisations across regional seascapes and provides bespoke training, knowledge exchanges, and information-sharing platforms.

The programme started in 2020 with 17 outstanding conservation change-makers working for eight leading national and local organisations in Comoros, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, and Zanzibar.

Following the success of the first AMCLP cohort, with participants reporting greater effectiveness, confidence, and abilities in their roles, the initiative expanded into two programmes in 2023 to provide a suite of leadership development programmes supporting more ocean change-makers and countries.
